Important Product Safety Information Regarding Amprobe TIC 300 PRO High Voltage Detectors.

 

Dear Amprobe Customer,

Fluke has identified a potential safety issue affecting certain Amprobe branded TIC 300 PRO High Voltage Detectors. As a precautionary measure, Fluke has decided to issue this safety notice.

The TIC 300 PRO is MSHA approved only when used with an Energizer 522 9V alkaline battery. It has come to our attention that some units may have been shipped with a different battery. Please ensure an Energizer 522 battery is installed before usage in mines or methane-air mixed environments.

What you need to do now

If you are affected by this safety notice, follow these steps to verify and/or replace the battery used in your TIC 300 PRO High Voltage Detector:

Use a Phillips blade screwdriver to remove the battery hatch screw. Lift the hatch and check the brand and model of the battery. If needed, remove the battery and replace it with an Energizer 522 9V alkaline battery. Make sure the seal is in place. Close the battery hatch and reinstall the screw.
