Easy to use
The Amprobe DM73C is an outstanding digital multimeter that is easy to use. It is lightweight, has an easy to read display and is very accurate. I have only used it for DC/AC voltage measurements, resistance measurements and for continuity. I have not used it for the diode testing capability, so I cannot vouch for that.

I love how this has the probe built in. In some of the work that I have done, I have been in some tricky spots where having the probes attached would be difficult to handle as that usually requires both hands, so this makes it easy to hold everything in one hand and yet have another hand free. Makes my work much easier!

On land and water
I’ve been using this probe for a while now, it’s been living in my boat bag most recently and it’s managed to survive so far. Salt water eats up most of my equipment but stayed intact and never fails to help me chase down the boat gremlins.

It lacks very seriously current leak measurement options, necessary for diagnosing currents draining your battery.Therefore a no-go as the only multimeter for vehicle/motorcycle maintenance. If so, what’s the point of having highly portable/travel machinery support tool that cannot measure current, at this price range.
I have downgraded it to model railroad and RC planes use, as for home electronics design it loses by precision and ergonomics against any cheap laboratory multimeter with large and fast display.
