Good affordable meter
Works well and does everything claimed. Logging set up is a bit of work and the multi-function keys mean you need to keep the manual handy for set up. Display is nice and works well for logging and measuring.
A better and more intuitive user interface would be the only improvement I suggest for this meter. I find I need to refer to the manual since I do not use the meter daily.

Worth it
I was rather impressed with this thermometer. It cost less than half the price of a Fluke 52. It has logging capabilities and pc connectivity. I did have to contact Amprobe for the software. I did this through their website and via email. One customer service representative emailed me a zip file and the other provided me a FTP link. One of them called me from a number that showed up as Fluke on the caller ID. Therefore on can posit that the TMD-56 meter is largely subject to the same quality standards. One think I did notice is that the 56’s response time is a little slower than the 52. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.

Works well
Does everything as advertised. Great for HVAC use. Calibration is easy. User interface is not intuitive due to the limited number of keys – keep your manual handy unless you use it regularly.
The multiple functions for each key can be confusing and I find I must take my time when setting it up to log data.

acceleration rate
is there any way to read rate of rise in temperature ?
✔ Yes, I recommend this product.
Amprobe –
The reading rate is 2.5 times per second, and saved/logged data can be read through the user interface. Check the user manual to see if the features match your application.

Alright Product, possibly not the right application
Good product with accurate measurements. Was using for a high temp braze test, which may have been a mistake because we burnt up fiberglass line thermocouple, then melted a plastic thermocouple. Our fault there. However, we did have trouble 1) finding a thermocouple that would fit this device as a replacement (took several buys and returns from an outside supplier) then was told that the Fluke recommended product would withstand the test (which it did not). 2) Also had issues with calibration. Could not keep temperature consistent between T1 and T2. 3) Software came with the program, but it was very not user friendly, converting logs into excel 93 sheets, which did not play nice with the computer I was using.
✘ No, I do not recommend this product
