Nice that it allows excess to tight or close places.
Though, I use that regular size amp-clamp meters. This mini-clamp insturment comes in very handlely in areas where the boxes, troughs, panels, load centers may have a bundle of conductors that a standard or normal size device may have difficulty having access to.
With this smaller amp-clamp you are able to take hold of the conductor you are attemping to get a read on and be able to get the clamp open and shut without distrubing the other conductors. It is a very useful tool.

having owned Amprobe products for over 30 years, i can say that dependability and accuracy are superb. only issue i have had with them is self inflicted. As in- dropping from a boom lift, run over by trucks cuz they were left out. these scenarios are always good for a new meter in the tool box! Otherwise, i am sure i would still own my 30 year old analog meter. great stuff!
