This is a great all around meter
This meter does it all. I’ve had mine for two years now, and it’s the only meter i carry for HVAC work, and true-rms is a must for todays equiptment. It would be nice if the display was a little larger or maybe a lighted white background. Overall a very accurate and functional meter.

Great Solid Meter
I have always been an Amprobe guy since I was a student in school. Now that I have become an HVACR Instructor I went to the Amprobe ACD-14 Clamp on Multimeter. This meter is in every toolbox that I check out to my students. This meter serves all the purposes I need for students to learn. The new version that defaults to AC Voltage instead of DC is now perfect as far as I am concerned. My students love the meter and its usually the one they purchase when they leave school. The dual screens give the abilty to calculate Air Flow on Electric Heat Furnaces very easy. If I changed anything about this meter it would be only that the screens be enlarged a little more. The features of Temperature, Capacitance, Meg ohms, DC volts and Micro Amps, Continuity, and of course AC volts and Amps makes this meter the perfect HVACR Technician meter.

great tool works as described the only thing it lacks is it cant measure a 4 – 20 mA signal it willmeasure: 1-5 v, 2 -10 v, but not 4-20 mAother then that it is a out standing tool

This Product has a lot of usefull functions that are field tested.

MOst features are good, some need improvement
I found the Amprobe ACD-14 to be fully capable of obtaining electrical measurements. I like the bright red color making it easy to locate, the display has digits that are easily readable even for someone who’s eyes have been working for more than 50 years. It was taher cumbesome though and the lack of location to place the leads for taking readings needs to be improved. Making the jaw more of a hook to grab wiring would kelp as well. I would recommend this as I said but there is room for imorovement

Tool is very handy in the use of investigation Trouble shooting
I am a an electrical engineer and use the amprobe features to sovle problems such as Ampere readings on each phase and voltage readings. The tool is very handy and easy to use. I carry an amprobe Current/multi tester in my tool box all the time.

My main meter!
I have 4 multimeters in my possession and this is my go-to every time!
I use just about every function on it and I love the fact that this meter zeros out fast! I’ve tested the accuracy against a number of Fluke meters and this meter was dead on with all measurements!
The fact I can test controls while monitoring amperage on my HVAC systems is a saver. And then turn around and use the same meter to test my building controls is all that I can ask for!
This meter has a place in my go bag on every call!

terrible product
As for my meters I threw the last on away 2 weeks ago and bought a craftsman.I have had 3 of this type go bad.I had thought Amprobe was top of the line.I have worked as a HVAC technician for over 30 years.One of the most important and most used tools in my bag is a amp-volt meter.I have gone through 4 digital meters and 1 analog meter AMPROBE BRAND in the last 15.I bought Amprobe because older techs had 1 for over 20 years.I’m lucky to get 2 years from one..I DO NOT! abuse them.All have been carried in cases.The analog was carried in my service truck in the hard plastic molded case .It lasted less than 6 months.
The only Amprobe product That has lasted is my ultrasonic leak detector !5 years.The only thing I ever repaired on it was a loose solder joint in the head after 6 years.It works great.

Good meter it has great features like the Dual Display, my personal favorite. It has audible continuity which is a great feature to have in this industry (hvac/r and electrical) True RMS is a must on troubleshooting electrical motors.

Excelent Tool
We need know what the exact amp draw is for our spas. We can’t have a spa in the winter shut down when it’s -20 degrees outside. We also need to know what each part is drawing right down to the milivolts. Definately an excelent choicer

Only meter for HVAC
I’ve been in the hvac industry for 29 years. This has been my go to meter since I found it years ago. It’s compact and rugged. The dual displays allow me to watch voltage and amperage at motor start up making diagnostics much faster and easier. The price is a little high depending on where you buy it. But worth the money if you are serious about providing quality service to your customers. The only thing I would change as I do with each one is better leads with clips. And a magnet on the back to attach it to units for easier operation.

Very good meter for the price.
I have had this meter for about 3 years now and it has been a very accurate and reliable tool. I tested its accuracy with my fluke and it was dead on at 480v. The only issue I have had was the clip on amp meter stopped working recently. I found an easily fixable short that caused this. It is now fixed and ready for another 3 years of service.
